EUROESPES began its activity in 1991. Emanating from an idea of international convergence, the aim of this project, led by Professor Ramón Cacabelos, is to provide a solution to the growing problem which disorders of the nervous system and ageing represent.

EUROESPES main distinguishing mark is its innovative vocation. In keeping with our company philosophy, from the beginning we have promoted the integration of research projects and processes of development in order to expedite the practical application of scientific breakthroughs. This commitment to innovation has allowed EUROESPES to offer specialized medical care of the highest standard, the most comprehensive service for genetic diagnosis, exclusive protocols for pharmaceutical development and its own computer programs.

In 1995 the current EuroEspes Biomedical Research Center (CIBE) was opened in Santa Marta de Babío (Bergondo), a few kilometers outside the city of La Coruña. CIBE is the first private institution to embrace the monographic, multidisciplinary study of diseases of the Central Nervous System (CNS), integrating specialized healthcare and scientific investigation. As a monographic institution devoted to the research, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the nervous system, CIBE is a center of international reference in the field of biomedicine.

El Centro de Investigación Biomédica EuroEspes ha atendido, desde su inauguración en 1995, una media de 560 nuevos pacientes por año, con más de 3.000 consultas anuales.
