ESTABLISHMENT OF THE BEST SUITED DRUG FOR EACH PERSON
ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CORRECT DOSE FOR EACH PERSON
Until now, drug management was carried out “en masse”, in such a way that the same drug and the same dose was prescribed to all patients.
This may entail:
- Adverse reactions
- An efficacy rate of 10-70%
- Toxicity and even death
Optimization
On studying the genes which intervene in the metabolism of drugs, we find different profiles:
Ultra-rapid Metabolizer (UM)
When there is a duplication of an active gene. It is necessary to increase the dosage of the drug.
Extensive Metabolizer (EM)
Two active alleles. Standard dose.
Intermediate Metabolizer (IM)
Formed by one active and one inactive allele. Slightly lower drug dosage. Multi-drug treatments should be avoided.
Poor Metabolizer (PM)
Formed by two inactive alleles. Reduce the dosage of the drug; the risk of suffering side-effects increases.
Pharmacogenetics is the study of the different response to drugs of different people. You will be able to find out which drugs are most appropriate for you, by undergoing a simple genetic analysis. With the results, you will be given a list of the drugs which are suited to you, and the appropriate dosage. We personalize your treatment.
YOU ONLY NEED A SINGLE ANALYSIS, AS YOUR GENETIC INFORMATION IS INVARIABLE OVER TIME
